Logbook Servicing

Whenever you buy a new vehicle, the manufacturer provides you with a warranty that protects you from the cost of any parts failures. To keep this warranty valid, you must have your vehicle serviced by a certified mechanic, according to the specifications and schedule laid out in the vehicle’s logbook.

A lot of people think they have to service their vehicle at their dealership or they will lose their warranty. This is understandable as manufacturers don’t go out of their way to let inform their customers about right-to-repair, but the truth of the matter is it’s illegal for manufacturers to discriminate based on choice of repairer; as long as the service is carried out by a certified mechanic according to the logbook specifications.

Here at Arc Mechanical, our expert mechanics are fully certified to provide logbook servicing for all:

  • Petrol vehicles
  • Diesel vehicles
  • Electric and hybrid vehicles
  • Passenger cars
  • Light commercial vehicles (Utes, vans and light trucks)
  • Heavy trucks and service vehicles

RWC INSPECTIONS & SAFETY CERTIFICATES – AIS 10541

If you’re planning on re-registering your vehicle, or selling, trading, or otherwise transferring ownership, you first have to obtain a Safety Certificate, which is issued by an authorised inspection station after a thorough inspection.

This inspection ensures your vehicle meets the minimum safety standards to be safely driven on Queensland roads. Here at Arc Mechanical, we are an authorised inspection station for:

  • Cars
  • Trucks
  • 4WD’s
  • Caravans
  • Trailers

If we detect flaws which means your vehicle fails the safety inspection, we will provide you with a list of everything that needs fixing (and we can also perform the repairs here at Arc Mechanical to save you hassle). If your vehicle passes, we will electronically submit it to the Department of Transport and Main Roads for you!

BRAKE REPAIRS

Your brakes are the most important safety feature your vehicle has. While other safety systems, like airbags, can only reduce the severity of an accident, your brakes can act preventatively, and the condition of your brakes is often the deciding factor between an accident and an emergency stop.

Your brakes also suffer an astonishing amount of wear, as they routinely bring over a ton of material to a complete stop from high speeds. For this reason we agree with brake manufacturers that you should have your brakes checked at least once a year.

Arc Mechanicals’ skilled technicians can help you with:

  • Brake component replacement
  • Brake component machining
  • Brake hoses
  • Brake restorations

Steering & Suspension

Faults and flaws in your steering and suspension affect handling and ride comfort, causing issues such as body lean through corners, play in the steering wheel, and vibrations at speed. Your suspension is also responsible for maximising the grip that your tyres exert on the road surface, so a poor suspension will also increase your stopping distance.

Here at Arc Mechanical, our talented mechanics can help you with:

  • Wheel alignments
  • Shock absorbers, springs and struts
  • Wheel balancing
  • Bushing replacement
  • Power steering repairs and replacement
  • Lift kits and 4WD upgrades

Exhaust Services

When you ask people what their engine needs to run, you can count on most of them to remember petrol. Many people forget that oxygen is just as important to the internal combustion process as fuel is. Your exhaust is responsible for drawing the waste gases out of the engine bay, allowing fresh air to enter and fuel the combustion process.

The exhaust is a great system to look at for performance upgrades, providing some of the most cost effective performance improvements possible.

Here at Arc Mechanical, our skilled team of technicians can repair, replace, modify and upgrade exhaust systems, so if you need exhaust repairs or are looking for an upgrade, contact us today!

Air Conditioning

Your air conditioning actually degrades more from disuse than from use, as the rubber tubing and seals dry up and crack, allowing the refrigerant gas to leak out and rob your aircon of its cooling power.

Here at Arc Mechanical, we can fully repair your air conditioning; starting by replacing any broken components (compressors, condensers, evaporators etc.), then swapping out any cracked tubing and seals, and finally recharging your system with refrigerant once we’re certain it’s airtight.

If you notice any of these issues, the team at Arc Mechanical can help you with:

  • Automatic transmissions
  • Manual transmissions

Tyres

While they might seem simple at first, your tyres are actually marvels of modern engineering. They are designed to continue to provide traction as they wear (as long as your wheels are aligned correctly), and in wet weather, the treads of your tyres act as channels to divert water away from where your tyres touch the road.

Here at Arc Mechanical, we stock a wide range of tyres from major brands for all makes and models of car and 4WD, and we can fit them for you as well!

We also ensure that all old tyres we receive are recycled and not just sent to landfill.
